Alexi Brueckner, Artist

(b. 1979, Bronx, NY) is a New York-based artist who focuses on the interpretations of her conscious and bodily memories to create dream spaces in her paintings. Working in abstraction and, most recently, through depictions of flowers, she hopes to invite the viewer into a state of thoughtfulness, imagination, and peace.

Paintings and projects to invoke a liminal space to dream and remember.

My recent paintings integrate my impulse to create images that integrate my own family’s symbols with a physicality that I experience when I paint. Color overlays, washes, and repetitive marks are prevalent in my work. I hope to draw viewers into a pensive, meditative space that holds beauty in addition to depth and the unseen within.
